Corten steel trough planter pots are built to survive the elements while elevating your design. We use genuine ASTM A588 weathering steel, meticulously hand-welded to create a clean, seamless, monolithic block of steel.
Over 3 to 6 months, the steel reacts with rain and humidity to form a dense, warm-orange oxide patina. This layer blocks oxygen, stopping deep rust penetration and eliminating the need for painting, sealing, or chemical rust-proofing.

1. Month 0 (The Raw Slate): Arrives in a clean, gunmetal silver-grey steel finish.
2. Month 1 (The Golden Rust): Exposure to rain starts the reaction. A bright golden-yellow rust skin appears.
3. Month 3 (The Earthy Amber): The patina thickens, darkening into a rich, deep amber-orange hue. Runoff begins to stabilize.
4. Month 6 (The Indestructible Shield): The self-protecting oxide skin is fully matured. Color settles into a dark, textured chocolate-brown/rust-bronze. Maintenance drops to zero.
